Allaah [The Most High] said that the Jinn said about themselves:
وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَٲلِكَۖ كُنَّا طَرَآٮِٕقَ قِدَدً۬ا
There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way. [Surah Al-Jinn’ Ayah 11]
Mujaahid said, “They [i.e. the Jinn] mean: [Some of us are] Muslims and [some] Disbelievers.” Al-Hasan and As-Sadee said, “Like yourselves [i.e. humans]; amongst them [i.e. the Jinn] are Qadariyyah, Murji’ah and Raafidah.” Sa’eed Bin Jubayr said, “[They are] different complexions.” Ibn Kaysaan said, “[They are] parties and sects.”

We used to come to a scholar, what we learnt from him of manners was more beloved to us than his knowledge.

Be more grateful for Allah’s blessings upon you in your religion than his blessings on you in your worldly life.

Ali Ibn Shaqeeq [rahimahullaah] said: I heard Abdullaah Ibnul Mubaarak [rahimahullaah] saying in the midst of the people: ”Leave the narrations of the Amr Bin Thaabit because he used to revile the Salaf [i.e. the pious predecessors]”. [Muslim 1/16]
How about if Ibnul Mubaarak [rahimahullaah] was to appear amongst us [today]! What would he say about those who speak ill of the companions of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam], such as the likes of Mawdoodi, Sayyid Qutb, Taariq Suwaydaan, Hasan bin Farhaan al-Maaliki, Abul Hasan al-Maribi al-Misri and those who defend these people or keep silent about them!

If a sensible person did not weep due to what remains of his life span, except due to the sweetness that has escaped him from the acts of obedience to Allaah, then it would be befitting that he weeps due to what has elapsed until death comes to him.

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, (saying): Jareer narrated to us from Al-a’mash from Mas’ood Ibn Maalik who said: ”Ali Ibnul Husain said to me, ”Are you able to make me meet with Saeed Ibn Jubayr?” I said: ”What need do you have of him?” He said: ”I want to ask him about some affairs. Indeed, the people commend us for that which we do not possess.”
