Greenlane’s Admin-Why do you hide truth and aggrandize the status of those who utter this statement…..!

—————————————————————————————————————————————–

The statement

Warn against the mistake and do not mention the name of the one who committed the mistake

——————————————————————————————————————————————

Ali Ibn Shaqeeq (rahimahullaah) said:

I heard Abdullaah Ibnul Mubaarak (rahimahullaah) saying in the midst of the people: ”Leave the narrations of Amr Bin Thaabit, for indeed he used to revile the Salaf.” [1] [End of quote]

Shaikh Rabee (may Allaah preserve him) said:

By Allaah! They (i.e. innovators) are mentioned by their characteristics and by their names if the need arises. If such and such takes up the (position) of leading and guiding the Ummah and the youth, and dragging them to falsehood, then their names are mentioned. If the need arises to mention his name, then his name is mentioned. [2] [End of quote]

Greenlane’s Admin: So here we have Imaam Ibnul Mubaarak (rahimahullaah) warning against Amr Bin Thaabit in an open gathering and mentioning his name! These are our Salaf, so where is the evidence of the one who says that it is obligatory to mention the deviated views but not the names of the deviated one. Indeed, whenever our Ulama see the need and mention names of deviants, we will transmit their verdicts.

Imaam Maalik (rahimahullaah) was asked about a Mas’alah (an affair of the religion), so he said, “I don’t know.” Then it was said: “Indeed, it is a light and simple affair!!” So he became angry and said: “There is nothing light in knowledge, and have you not heard the statement of Allaah (The Most High): [إِنَّا سَنُلۡقِى عَلَيۡكَ قَوۡلاً۬ ثَقِيلاً-Verily, We shall send down to you a weighty Word (i.e. obligations, legal laws, etc. (73:5)] All (affairs) of knowledge are heavy, especially that which one will be questioned about on the Day of Judgement.

Imaam Maalik used to say: “Whoever is to answer a question about a Mas’alah (an affair of the religion), then it is befitting that he turns his attention to the Paradise and Hellfire before he answers and how he can be saved in the afterlife. Then he answers (the question).”

He said, “The people of bidah-those who speak (with speculation) about Allaah’s Names, His Attributes, His Speech, His Knowledge and His Qudrah, and they do not keep quiet about what the Sahaabah kept quiet about and those who followed them exactly in faith.”
Imaam Maalik (rahimahullaah) also said: “If philosophical rhetoric was knowledge, the sahaabah and their followers would have spoke about it just as they spoke about the rulings of the Religion; but it (i.e. philosophical rhetoric) is falsehood and leads to falsehood.”
