Path of Allah – Shaykh b. Baaz

Path of Allah – Shaykh b. Baaz

Shaykh b. Baaz in explanation of the ayah where Allah informs us of Ibraheem’s (alayhis salaam) conversation with his father:

‎فَاتَّبِعْنِي أَهْدِكَ صِرَاطًا سَوِيًّا

“So follow me. I will guide you to a Straight Path.” [Soorah Maryam: 43]

Meaning, I will direct you to a clear straight path, which has no crookedness, nor secrecy in it. The straight path is the worship of Allah alone, obeying His commands and staying away from His prohibitions, stopping at His legislated divine limits,(1) this is Allaah’s Straight Path in regards to every prophet from the time of Aadam until the end of time.

Allah’s Straight Path:

It is to make your actions sincerely for Allah alone whilst following that which the prophets (alayhimus salaatu was salām) came with in every time and place. And the final of the prophets is our Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wa salam).

Allah’s Straight Path After the Sending of Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wa salam):

It is believing in that which (the prophet) Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wa salam) came with, following it and being steadfast upon it. This is the Straight Path which is mentioned in Allaah’s statement (The Mighty and Majestic):

‎اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ

Guide us to the Straight Way

‎صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ

The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger, nor of those who went astray. [Al-Faatihah: 5-7] (2)

Where will Easa (alayhis salām) be Buried – Shaykh b. Bāz

“Is there a specific place for the burial of ‘Easa (alayhis salām)?”

Shakh ‘Abdul ‘Azīz b. Bāz (rahimahullah) was asked:

“Is there a specific place for the burial of ‘Easa (alayhis salām)?”

He (rahimahullah) replied:

This has been reported in some narrations, but there are observations regarding the authenticity that he will be buried in the prophetic garden (rawdah).

I do not know of anything established. This (burial place) has been mentioned by ibn Kathīr (rahimahullah) and others, however I am unaware of a connected chain (of narration) that he will be buried in the prophetic garden. (Therefore) this (saying) is not to be depended on, and Allah knows best.

Backing Up Your Claims In Three Important Affairs- Haatim Al-Asam

Haatim Al-Asam (rahimahullaah) said: Whoever claims three affairs without three other affairs is a liar: [a] The one who claims to love Allaah without fearing what He has forbidden is a liar; [b] the one who claims to love paradise without spending his wealth is a liar; [c] The one who claims to love the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) without loving the poor people is a liar.

Truly honouring the Prophet – Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam – Shaykh Al-Uthaymeen

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Shaykh Al-Uthaymeen – Rahimahullaah – said:

If you wish to honour The Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم with the form of honour that he deserves عليه الصلاة والسلام then execute his commands and refrain from matters that he has prohibited in everything that you say and do. By way of that you will become one who has honoured The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Reflecting upon those whom Allah has favoured – Shaykh Ibnul Uthaymeen

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Shaykh Al-Uthaymeen – rahimahullah- said:

The statement of Allah “The path of those whom you have favoured” is an evidence that it’s upon us to look into the lives of those whom Allah has favoured, as to who they were and what their condition was. This is so that we may be guided to their path. And an extension to that is an encouragement for us to know the biography of The Prophet – صلى الله عليه وسلم – due to him being the most favoured by Allah.

Referring to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم as “Habeeb ullah”? Sh.ibn Uthaymeen

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

It is common to hear the phrase “Habeeb ullah” referring to the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم, however how accurate is this statement? Shaikh ibn ul-Uthaymeen رحمه الله responds:

“The prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم is habeeb ullah [beloved of Allah] no doubt, for indeed he loves Allah and is beloved to Allah, however there is a description that is higher and better than this, and that is to say “Khaleel ullah”. For indeed the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم is the khaleel of Allah as in the hadith, “Indeed Allah took me as a khaleel just as He took Ibrahim as a khaleel”.

Therefore, the one who describes the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم as “habeeb ullah” has actually lowered him صلى الله عليه و سلم from his status, because “khaleel” is greater and higher than “habeeb”, since all the believers can be said to be the “habeeb” of Allah, but the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم is in a position higher than that, and that is the position of being the “khaleel” [which is a greater level of love than habeeb]”.

[Fataawa Arkaan il-Islaam p98/99 paraphrased]

Similarly Shaikh ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned, “The statement of some of the people that Mohammad صلى الله عليه و سلم is “habeeb ullah” and that Ibrahim عليه السلام  is “khaleel ullah”, thinking that “habeeb” is a greater love than “khaleel” is a weak statement, rather the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم is khaleel ullah”
