Ibn Taymiyyah said:There are a people who know not Ahlus Sunnah’s creed as it should be; or they know some & are ignorant of some of it. They conceal what they know & do not clarify it for the people. They neither forbid innovations nor rebuke Ahlul Bidah. They would reject a statement in the Sunnah & make no differentiation between what Ahlus Sunnah say and what Ahlul Bidah say.
This path has overwhelmed many of the Murji’ah, the ascetics & philosophers, just as it has overwhelmed many people of desires & rhetoric.

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] said:
Lying against an individual is absolutely forbidden- whether the man [i.e. the one lied against] is a Muslim or a disbeliever, righteous or a wicked sinner-; but fabricating lies against a believer is more severe.
Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah ) stated: “The deviant sects hold a view and then explain the (statements and words of) Qur’aan to make them conform to their view.

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah ( rahimahullah ) said:
When it is the case that the (true) followers of the Prophets are people of knowledge and justice, then the speech of the people of Islaam and the Sunnah about the disbelievers and people of bidah is (carried out) with knowledge and justice and not with conjecture and the soul’s desire. And due to this, the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi wasallam) said: Judges are of three types, one of whom will go to Paradise and two to Hell. A man who knows the truth and judges with it will enter paradise; a man who knows the truth but judges with the opposite of it will enter the fire, and a man who judges for the people based on ignorance will enter the fire.’’ [Reported by Imaam Abu Dawud and others]
And when it is the case that the one who judges between the people in (affairs) of wealth, blood (i.e. murder cases, injury etc.) and honour will enter the hell fire if he is not a just scholar, then what about the one who passes judgements without knowledge-such being the case with ahlul bidah-on religions, the Usool of Imaan, affairs of knowledge related to Allaah, His Names, Attributes and Actions, and the lofty affairs of knowledge.’’
The Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) used to command Bilaal to leave an interval between his Adhaan and Iqaamah so that two units of (prayer can be prayed). There were those amongst the companions who prayed two units of prayer between the Adhaan and the Iqaamah and the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) saw them and approved their (action). He (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ”There is a prayer between the two calls (i.e. Adhaan and Iqaama), there is a prayer between the two calls.” And whilst saying it the third time he said: “For the one who wishes”, fearing that it would be taken as something binding in his Sunnah. So if the Mu’addhin leaves an interval for that (two units of prayer), then this prayer is something good; but if he calls the Iqaamah straight away after calling the Adhaan, then busying oneself in responding to the Mu-addhin is the Sunnah. That is because the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ”If one of you hears the Mu-addhin, then let him say what he says”(i.e. he repeats what the Mu-addhin says).
And it is not befitting for anyone to leave responding to the Mu-addhin and prays those two units of prayer, because the Sunnah is that one who hears the Mu-addhin should say what the Mu-addhin is saying. Then he should send the salutation upon the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) and says: ‘………….’اللهم رب هذه الدعوة التامة O Allaah! Lord of this perfect call…..” to the end of the supplication… [Source:Al-Fataawa al-Kubraa of Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) Vol: 2: page: 270-271]
What is meaning of the statement of Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullah “Whoever opposes the ijmaa (consensus of the scholars) then indeed he has disbelieved”?
Answer:
Yes! Allah said this:
{And whoever contradicts and opposes the Messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) after the right path has been shown clearly to him, and follows other than the believer’s way, We shall keep him in the path he has chosen, and burn him in Hell – What an evil destination!} Surah An-Nisa’ Verse 115
And this is an evidence upon the one who opposes the ijmaa, that indeed he has disbelieved.
