Al-Imaam Al-Albaani (rahimahullah):

Muslims do not draw close to Allah with that which he finds the people upon, rather he only draws close to Allah by that which the Leader of Mankind, the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alaihi wa salam) was upon.
